Patriotism

It was a great weekend. I love celebrating the 4th of July. We enjoyed a barbecue at my brother's house and then went to a parking lot to watch the fireworks.

At church Sunday, the talks were on Patriotism. One of the speakers said something that really made me think. He mentioned that hundreds of people attend parades to celebrate the 4th of July and when they leave, trash is filling the streets. I started pondering about ways that I show or should show patriotism for my country. What are your thoughts? How do you show patriotism?

Looks like you had a fun 4th! NYC always has fun things going on but I miss being with family.....lucky you! The picture of Bob with the grill makes me remember when Jose and I went to your parents house for dinner after conference a few years ago. Yumm! Your dad is king of the grill in my book!

I love America!! Freedom does not come cheap. I appreciate all those that have and our defending our U.S.A. I know there are alot of problems in the world. And I feel so blessed to live here compared to second world countries. God definetly had a hand in creating it. As far as patriotism we can stand and put our hands on our hearts when at events where the flag is diplayed. Also display a flag in your yard on holidays. I have heard if all citizens try to be honorable , good and brave God will bless it. (America.)(Yes I think towns should supply trash barrels throughout the street so people would have a place to throw their trash. Love, G.R.
