Who's your mamma.

By HeRoos,

Even though several people including SheRoos and myself witnessed the birth of MB, there has been some question as to whether or not SheRoos is the mother since he looks and acts so much like me, his father.

ZoZo had only been in the world for about three days before she started acting just like her mother. Anyone who knows SheRoos knows she likes her sleep and to wake her while sleeping will result in a very mad and dangerously dirty look.

Here is ZoZo sleeping soundly.

Here is ZoZo after I accidentally disturbed her.

Tomorrow morning I’m hoping to get the camera and suddenly wake up SheRoos to prove my point. If I'm not murdered afterwards I will post the picture. :)

Davis County Fair

By HeRoos,

Last weekend at the last minute we decided to get out of the house and go to the Davis County Fair. Actually, there was a sign calling it the “Famous” Davis County Fair and unfortunately I’m not quite sure it lived up to the hype. We were supposed to meet some friends there, but we missed them just as they left. We are finding out that it takes proportionally longer to get ready to go out with two kids than just one.

ZoZo pretty much just chilled the whole time in her new double stroller that she shares with MB.

Here is MB with his monkey-on-the-back leash. To say the least he is not a fan of someone holding on to him like a dog. If SheRoos would let me, I would tie the other end to a stake in the ground so I don’t have to hold the leash. Maybe I can get him to roll over and beg for doggy biscuits too.

MB was very gentle while petting the bunnies. Too bad he isn’t that soft "petting" his sister, which usually ends up with him in timeout for trying to rip her face off.

This is MB's first pony ride. I don’t think I’ve every seen his face so excited. ;) I swear he does smile and one day we might get it on camera.

They also had a Guitar Hero video game setup for people to entertain the crowd with their instrument and singing abilities.

MB sums it up well how we felt about their talent.

The fair did have the BEST shaved ice I’ve ever tasted.

However, I like mine a little more tart than MB would prefer.

Get Your ZoZo Fix

HeRoos promises that he is going to blog about ZoZo's birth (yes, that will be her screen name from now on). Until then, here are some random pictures.

Let's just say that I am completely and totally in love with this little girl. I know she is only 11 days old but she is winning our hearts over. She is so sweet that I don't want to put her down. I love hearing her squawks, inhaling her breath, and watching her peaceful little face. Believe it or not, I don't even mind changing her dozen plus diapers a day.

Pure Sweetness...

Grandpa & Grandma Roos

ZoZo meeting the neighbor dog Zoey. Do you think she will be offended knowing that we got the name idea from a dog?

She loves the glider and so does her brother.

A Day in the Life of MB

This little guy keeps us laughing. Yesterday I had the camera out and happened to capture some it.

I don't know how much longer he'll keep up with it but I am very grateful that he still takes TWO naps a day. This is what he did during his morning nap. Play ghost?

Our cousins from Idaho came to visit us. MB had fun with "Spitfire."

His favorite place to play is in our bedroom. He likes to take all the toiletries out of the bottom two drawers and hide them. He also jumps in the pillows on our bed and hides. Then he takes everything off the nightstands.

Yes, he is licking the very dirty floor. He loves ice but I don't like him to have it because he bites it with his front teeth. When I fill up my glass with crushed ice it often falls on the floor. He couldn't get it with his fingers so he used his mouth. What a resourceful little guy.

He is Daddy's little shadow and likes to "help" him fix the sprinklers. I'm glad they're not showing crack. ;)

He has been working on his scowl (as if his serious face wasn't enough) and he is getting quite good at it. He also tries to headbutt his baby sister. He doesn't do it to be mean, it's almost as if he is trying to show affection. Weird, I know. He and his little friend do this to each other and they act as if it is a completely normal and acceptable thing to do. I don't get it.

What I didn't get pictures of is all the times he eats during the day and makes a complete mess, the tantrums he throws when getting his diaper changed, watching Sesame Street & Baby Einstein (over & over), playing with his toys, attempting to play outside until the wasps scare us away, and getting kissed on by his mommy.

The Gift Giver

MB had just finished making a complete mess of his spaghetti lunch so I stripped him down to his diaper to head upstairs for a bath. I had Baby Z in my arms and the doorbell rang. An adorable girl from Estonia was selling children books door to door.

As I listened patiently to her sales pitch, MB decided to share a gift with her. He tore off his wet diaper and threw it at her feet (Maybe, he thought she would take the diaper in exchange for some books). Both of us looked down at my naked boy and started laughing hysterically. MB had no shame. She finished her sales pitch and I finally got the streaker inside... without any books.

Want Some Apricots?

Something that MB and I look forward to everyday is eating fruit from our yard. We usually sit under the cherry tree and chomp away. If I knew the previous owners who planted them, I would give them a great big hug and thank them. It has been so much fun eating strawberries, raspberries (MB's very favorite), cherries, and apricots. We're looking forward to plums and grapes. If you live nearby and want some apricots, come pick away before the birds get them. They are getting very ripe and I'm not sure how much longer they'll be good for and who doesn't love apricot jam?

Wah wah wah

No, the baby girl has not arrived. She is taking her sweet time and causing my body even greater discomfort. I think my pelvic bone may be crushing into a hundred pieces. It's amazing that all of these weird body problems (heart burn, light headedness, back pain, weak bladder, irritability, sleeplessness, head aches, hot flashes, etc. etc) will be cured once the baby is born- well, most of them. :)

Today has been in slow motion. I kept checking the clock to see when HeRoos would get home from work. I know MB and I should be enjoying every minute of our peace and quiet before she comes but I can't help but feel a little anxious and impatient. Why is it that we often want to rush our lives along instead of just enjoying the ride, even if it's a slow ride? I'm going to stop complaining, go to bed early, and enjoy one of my last nights of uninterrupted sleep (not counting bathroom breaks).
