Dad to the Rescue

It's 10:30 PM and my man is still hard at work. I really don't like going to bed without him so I'll spend a little time winding down the evening as I think about what a lucky lady I am.

HeRoos works from home twice a week. That would seem like a good thing.
It is.
Most of the time.
Except when he catches us doing this to his son...

It all started with a bow. I was so excited to show my mom this darling hairband that I bought for our little girl due in August. MB was sitting right by me so I tried it on him. It doesn't look so good on him (thank goodness he doesn't make a cute girl).

Then it led to this... my mom brought a dress that she made for me when I was little and it just happened to be nearby and MB was sitting right beside us. He hated it.

We couldn't stop laughing.

That is when HeRoos busted the dress up party and took his son away. He locked the door behind them and a few minutes later the dress was tossed out. We were wondering if we were banned from MB. Eventually they emerged and HeRoos told us how cruel we were and how I only have a couple months left before I can dress a girl, NOT MB. I was still trying to contain my giggles so my mom took it for the team. She apologized and promised it wouldn't happen again.

I'm sure someday MB will thank his dad for coming to his rescue.

I'm still giggling. It was all meant in fun.Maybe we should have chosen a day that HeRoos was Not working from home. Hopefully MB will not remember any of this. I love that darling little boy and agree he makes a cuter boy than girl. I hope HeRoos will not ban me from being able to play with MB.

My boys got dressed up as girls from aunts. My middles son looked like a boy in a dress. My oldest made a beautiful girl, and my youngest not so much. Sorry about the birds. We have robins that try to make nests in our grill each year. One year they made it while we were gone, and the babies had hatched. Tell HeRoos that all boys get to play dress Up at least once!!

I was laughing in my office as I read this...it's true. EVERY boy gets dressed as a girl at least ONCE in their life...some by choice. It's not like you took him out anywhere...did you? I'm anxiously awaiting to see pics of your little girl!!!

Jennie, I remember you in that very dress! My, where does the time go? Such cute photos. (Yes, it's 3:30 in the morning; I couldn't sleep -- too geared up for the last day of school I guess.)

This is great! You're right, MB does not look like a girl at all even in a dress.

This is a great one to preserve for MB's enjoyment later on.

That reminds me, I was going to send you a link to the site I found that will make a book out of your blog.

I haven't tried it yet, so if you try this - or another site - I am very interested to hear how it turns out.
