If Big Boys Would Just Listen to ...

their wives! When HeRoos and I got married I could not believe the amount of receipts he would accumulate. They were ALL over the house- on the bedroom dresser, on the kitchen counter, in his pant pockets, in the car, everywhere! It drove me crazy (and obviously still does). I decided to get this problem under control by purchasing a small plastic accordion file and putting it by the computer. It is labeled by months. As soon as a purchase is cleared through checking, HeRoos is supposed to throw away the receipt unless we need to keep it. Then he is to file it in the handy dandy plastic file. He did very well for three months and then the receipts starting showing up everywhere again. Instead of pestering him nonstop I've been stuffing them in his dresser drawer. Low and behold, today he needed a receipt to return something to Lowe's. Do you think he could find it after sorting through the pile of receipts. Of course not. Maybe he'll start listening to his very wise wife. :)

I'm afraid that your next door neighbor's wife has the exact same problem, only it's been 13 years of marriage (aka, 13 years of receipts).

Long live the big boys who don't listen to their wives.....oh wait I mean, yes I'll go through all of those receipts dear. ;)

Maybe you'll have to threaten him with carrying a purse to put all the receipts in. I'm sure he doesn't want to carry a purse that BIg!! From my experience wives and husbands certainly have different styles when it comes to organization. Love, G>R>

We used to have this problem at our house too. Ours used to be Home Depot and Lowes receipts but now that we live in a rental the problem with the receipts is a little better- but I am sure the problem will start again soon :)

Jennie I always loved your idea of keeping an envelope in your purse labeled with the month on the outside! That is so smart! Do you still do that?
