Angels on Duty

I had the scare of my lifetime yesterday. I'm going to share, not so you can see what a horrible mother I was but, so you won't make the same mistake.

MB and I were visiting my mom and I thought I would attempt to put him in the pack and play for a nap. He rarely falls asleep in it but it was worth a try. The pack and play was beside a bed and dresser. I noticed a few things on the bed (including an empty bag) so I moved them over and didn't think much of it. We could hear MB in the room playing and talking. When he got quiet my mom wanted to check on him but I told her not to because I didn't want him to start fussing if he wasn't asleep yet.

A while later, I opened the door to peek on him. He was on his stomach with green yarn wrapped all around his neck and arm. I screamed for my mom and picked him up. He woke up as I started unwinding the yarn from around his neck. My mom walked in and saw what happened and started screaming too. MB started crying since he was woken up to screams and his mom unwinding his yarn project. He was perfectly fine and there was no harm done but I was really shaken up over it. I got on my knees and thanked Heavenly Father for watching out for my baby. Every time I think about what could have happened if the Angels weren't looking out for him, I get teary eyed. I love this little guy so much and want him to grow up healthy and happy and live a good, long life.

I learned a lesson. He is taller and getting more curious by the day and I have to move things further from his reach. I also need to cherish every day that I have with those that I love.

Hmm...not sure what happened on my last post. Oh well.

I am sure that you were soooo scared. You are such a wonderful mother! You inspire me because your first thought was to see it as a learning experience and to fall on your knees and pray. What a true blessing that little MB was okay. Give him a squeeze for me.

You are not a bad mom. What a scary way to learn something about your child though! I'm glad he is okay and all of us are more aware of how active these kids can get!!! Much Love to you and your family!

It is amazing what they can reach, and manage to do in just a few seconds. I look back at all the what ifs my kids could have had and think - yep they did have an angel. Glad he is all right, he is such a cutie.
