HAFB Air Show

For months we have been looking forward to the Air Show at Hill Air Force Base. It has been quite LOUD around our place with the planes practicing overhead. As the day approached, I must admit my excitement died down as I heard how many people were going to be there.

There was no talking HeRoos out of it though. He ran over anyone and anything in sight just to get there in time. I thought I was going to look down and see our unborn baby on the path behind us as we RAN across the military base. We made it just in time to see the Thunder birds. I must admit, it was an amazing site. It was also great to see so many military men & women walking around in their uniforms. The Patriotic music blaring on the speakers and planes flying above made my skin crawl with pride.

Look closely at the picture (above his head). MB and his dad obviously don't share the same excitement. MB would rather eat Goldfish crackers and play around instead of watch the planes.

HeRoos' dad on the other hand is a die hard. He was waiting at the gate at 6:30 AM to get in. He was the first to arrive and one of the last to leave.

We ran into our good friends & had fun visiting with them.

Our kids wanted to go, but with everything going on that day, we just didn't make it, but they had a great time watching the planes that flew over the house. You could see quite a bit from our back yard.

It looks like fun! We wanted to go to that show, but it was raining like crazy at our house. It looks like it was nice there. We hope to see you soon!
We are going to be making our blog private so if you want an invite please send me your google email to spackmansrock@msn.com

Fun! Eric would be jealous. He loves that kind of stuff. By the way, Eric and Rick could be twins. He has that same shirt.

It was our third anniversary, and Alan thought it would be fun. However after waiting in a line of cars for 45 minutes, walking half an hour to the gate, and another hour at the gate, we left without entering. The Monday before, we had so many planes flying over our house I called my dad (retired Col.) to see what was going on. Now we know that we will need to get out of bed earlier!
